For one, the world is just nicer to women. Especially young, energetic, flirty women. Sometimes I will get my morning coffee bought for me simply for looking cute and being friendly while standing in line. It is never something you ask for… just something that just sorta happens.

Yesterday I was washing my car at the Shell Station. I was doing it myself in the quarter wash that only gives you 3 minutes… needless to say, I ran out of time. My car was a big soapy mess and I had no quarters left. I literally just looked at the two guys who were working in the expensive automatic car wash line with an expression that said “whoops… I guess I ran out of time” and they came right over and finished washing my car for free. Honestly… that just doesn’t happen to men.

Being a girl makes it so much easier to talk your way out of trouble, too. Speeding tickets are a great example. I’ve been pulled over 3 times for excessive speeding and didn’t get ticketed any of those times. I didn’t cry or tell the cop that I was having “woman problems” or anything like that. I just simply told them the truth. Yes, I was speeding. I should probably slow down. It won’t happen again. Thanks sir, you have a good day too.

I won’t even talk about the bar… I’m sure you are all aware how that pans out. And I’m not the type of girl who goes on a mission to get free drinks. In fact, if a guy I have no desire to talk to offers to buy me a drink, I almost always decline… politely, of course. But still… bars are fun for girls. It is nice to be able to go out with your girlfriends and not drop a small fortune on overpriced beers.

And lastly… it amazes me how much power men allow us to have over them. I mean, seriously. I know a lot of girls might disagree with me on this one, but if you ever observe the dynamics between men an women, you will see that the confident woman have all the control. If you are a woman and feel like guys have control over you or that they are always playing games… then you need to stop and reevaluate how you act around them. They will only walk all over you if you let them. It took me a long time to learn that simple little lesson, but it has made a world of difference.

Oh, and the boob thing… I don’t really consider it a perk. Some people do. I kind of think they are a nuisance. But then again, perhaps they play a role in the perks above. (Although I like to pretend that I am oblivious to that, uh, perquisite.) I know that Emmy plans to write a whole post about this topic, so I’ll be interested in her point of view.

So go get your free coffees ladies… and men, thanks for indulging us. We appreciate it.

Note: I want to avoid some controversy here. I do no expect anything from men, and I do not think that they owe women anything. I respect men for everything they contribute to this world, and I mean no disrespect by this post. If you are a man that doesn’t agree with women getting freebies, then more power to you. But women don’t get the pleasure of having a penis, so just let me appreciate the simple pleasures that we DO have. Afterall, isn’t that better than me bitching about how or why women are discriminated against? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
