Happy = Uninspired

Isn’t it funny how you are the most uninspired to write when you’re happy? How whenever things are going your way, you just don’t feel like you have anything good to say? Or maybe that’s just me… But lately, my posts have lacked enthusiasm. I’ve been posting more pictures and videos than actual words. When I do post words, they aren’t very interesting. And I’m going to blame it all on being happy. As silly as that sounds, my best writing usually stems from aggravation, sorrow, or being completely irrate. Without any of those feelings… I’m left without much to say. At least on my blog.

It feels weird to say this, but please forgive me for being happy. Well, not for being happy, but for the lack of inspiration I have when I’m happy. But the fact is, I’m just so happy to be back in Chicago, living in my old apartment, hanging out with my roommates, spending more time with my family, seeing the skyline everytime I drive down Lakeshore Drive, knowing I have a nephew that will be here in just a few short months, excited to start grad school… and other things that I choose not to write about. I must be completely nauseating to everyone around me as I skip around the apartment, singing, and smiling about everything.

But I’m here, and I’m trying. I’ve been working on this post for about half an hour now hoping I would magically have really cool things to write about. But nope, not happening.

I’m sorry guys… but at least I’m smiling, right?

P.S. You will all get very sick of me repeating this for the next two weeks, but please enter my contest! You’d be doing my a favor. A HUGE favor.

Missing my Mac like woah.

My beloved computer had its near-death experience last Tuesday morning, so this is the 7th day that I have not had it. They told me it would take between 5-7 days to fix. This morning I checked the repair status online and it said that my computer hasn’t even left the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue!!! Gahhhhhhhh…… I’m so frustrated. I need my computer back NOW. I hate having to use my roommate’s comp all the time because I am not a fan of PCs. Apple, stop slacking and fix my laptop!!

Okay, that was my venting session for the day.

I finished another guide today… The awesome world of cuddling, which goes right along with my other guide, Surviving a Chicago Winter. Check them out. They are just for fun…

My first contest!!

I’ve decided to have a contest. I need help, and I’m willing to give out a prize for it.

Winner will get a $25 Starbucks gift card. (If you don’t have a Starbucks near you, I will send you a $25 gift card to somewhere else so don’t let that be a reason not to enter.)

Entering is pretty simple, but possibly a little time consuming.

1. Go to Guidespot.com and create an account.
2. Go to my Guidespot.com Author Page and favorite me by clicking the link that says “add JessicaJoy to your favorites” right underneath the About Me paragraph.
3. Comment on one of my guides OR add a contribution to one of my community guides. (Thumbs Up on my guides would be appreciated as well, but not mandatory as I have no way of tracking them.)
4. Link one of my guides (or my author page) somewhere on your blog or twitter about it. (I’m totally okay with you telling your readers that you are linking my guide for a contest!)
5. Leave me a comment HERE telling me your Guidespot.com username and where you linked one of my guides.
